A Coastal Retreat with Heart

Historic charm meets modern luxury

Since 1990, The Castle Woolacombe has welcomed guests seeking a unique and relaxing escape by the sea. Originally the family home of John & June Frazier, the property was lovingly transformed into a charming bed & breakfast, becoming a favourite destination for visitors to Woolacombe. Now fully renovated in 2023, The Castle combines its rich history with modern luxury, offering the perfect retreat for families, groups and special occasions.

A Home Away From Home

Beautifully furnished and thoughtfully designed, The Castle provides a spacious and inviting environment for up to 25 guests. Unlike the typical hotel stay, The Castle offers plenty of room to spread out, a fully equipped kitchen and cosy living spaces perfect for spending quality time together. Whether you’re here for a vacation or a celebration, our venue gives you the comfort of home with the luxury of a memorable getaway.

Restored to its Former Glory

Following its full renovation in 2023, The Castle blends timeless charm with modern amenities. Many of our 10 bedrooms offer en-suite facilities and breathtaking sea views. With flexible accommodation options, you’ll enjoy privacy, comfort, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for both relaxation and adventure. Our stunning location offers easy access to the best of Woolacombe, with plenty to see and do nearby.

Our Family, Your Hosts

Behind The Castle is a close-knit family that has been part of this journey for over 30 years. We work together to keep the spirit of the place alive and ensure that every guest feels at home. From personalised service to those extra touches that make your stay special, we’re here to help you create lasting memories.

the first building in Woolacombe

The Castle is the only listed building within Woolacombe’s conservation area, originally built as a private residence in the style of a Gothic folly. This castellated mansion, made from snecked rubble stone with ashlar dressings, stands grand and imposing above The Esplanade, showcasing high-quality Gothic Revival architecture.
